Trash Guidelines

Curbside Trash Collection

Curbside trash collection is picked up weekly in the communities Jendro Sanitation serves.

What and how much will be collected

Household trash which can be packaged to fit the size, weight, and quantity restrictions below is accepted:

  • Place as many bags as you need on the curb
  • Each bag  must not exceed fifty (50) pounds
  • Bags must be tied
  • Other bags may be put inside the Jendro Sanitation garbage bags as long as he Jendro bag is tied shut
  • Recycle as much as possible to reduce your garbage bag usage. See recycling guidelines.

Prohibited Items

The following items are NOT allowed in Jendro garbage bags and require special landfill disposal precautions

  • Hazardous materials such as paint, varnish, solvents, anti-freeze, cooking oil, motor oil and oil filters, herbicides and pesticides
  • Hazardous, toxic or flammable materials.
  • Lead acid batteries.
  • Landscaping – dirt, compost, brush & leaves, grass
  • Tires
  • Appliances including dehumidifiers
  • Red bag material (medical waste) including needles, syringes, and other biohazard material

Totes

Specific communities use totes for residential trash collection. If your community uses totes the lid needs to be completely closed or else you need to purchase additional tags for your extra bags.

Landfills

Area landfills that partner with Jendro Sanitation assist with recycling some prohibited products like tires, appliances, household hazardous waste, and e-waste. For more information about area landfills please review information on their websites
